About Julie Ziah
Julie Ziah is a Production Designer based in Los Angeles. She’s spent her career building worlds from gritty indies, to streaming dramas, and high-octane network procedurals. To Julie, a great set shouldn't just look good on camera, it should feel like a real location that exists beyond the frame.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Fine Arts and Communication Arts, Julie began her career art directing the feature “Baraboo” and continued onto art direct projects like “Queen of the South”, “Why Women Kill”, and the film “Maggie” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
That hands-on experience led her to Production Designing, where she recently wrapped two seasons of “S.W.A.T.” for CBS along with the spin-off series “S.W.A.T. Exiles” starring Shamar Moore. Her design work also includes three seasons of the atmospheric legal drama “Goliath” on Amazon starring Billy Bob Thornton, and the Apple TV+ series “Life By Ella.”
Whether she’s designing high-intensity action environments or gritty character-driven spaces, Julie’s approach is always about authenticity and collaboration. She enjoys the challenge of jumping between genres and is focused on making every set feel like a world that truly exists.
